Comfortable, stylish, elegant WFH garment
Even before the unfortunate Covid-19 pandemic, office attire was going through a “casualization” phase with all the trendy leisurely style outfits becoming a norm and replacing more rigid style uniform requirements. This was common for both, male and female corporate employees.
In the past five months, I’ve seen about ten style and wardrobe magazine posts listing the best work from home outfits to wear aka, “Best WFH outfits.” Each article had at least two cardigan sweaters in both, men’s and women’s sections listed as the best outfit options. I couldn’t agree more. I am wearing my favorite thin, navy blue, John Varvatos cardigan while writing this article during a cool December evening in Los Angeles.
Indoor and outdoor garment, ideal for transitional months
I have been working from home since March of 2020 and cardigans were my top garments of choice. Their versatility really shows now during cool and transitional months while indoors in front of our computer screens either working, auditing a lecture, or on a Zoom video meeting. Cardigans will give you that elegant leisurely look even if you are wearing just a pair of sweatpants or even pajamas as your bottom garment.
Wearing cardigan sweaters indoors during transitional months is very convenient because it is the easiest way for us to maintain that optimal body temperature and not break a sweat especially if you are cautious about not catching a cold. Students, workers, artists, at-home health care aides, and all sorts of professionals find cardigans to be the most versatile garments in these times when remote work or teleworking is trending. This is especially true if you have to see clients via a webcam or in person and want to look elegant and presentable.
